To clarify… this will mean Flex won't run in avm3 but Flash Player will still
run Flex fine in avm2.

It's probably worth checking into how much work it would take to get the Falcon
tests donated.
Running against mustella is great and will obviously be required but I'm
assuming the Falcon tests are substantially faster to execute and communicate
the functionality of the code.

So moving forward… adding a compiler feature like -advanced-telemetry won't be
donated to the Apache compiler codebase?
If that feature is already in falcon that's great… but it's an example of what
I was hoping would be donated in the future.
The SWF spec is open so I'm assuming we could build

This obviously begs the question… does Adobe plan on donating any changes to
ASC 2.0 back to Apache Flex?

For this type of output you may want to checkout the pre existing compiler

Github has a feature called pull requests that an Apache Flex Git repo does not.
https://help.github.com/articles/using-pull-requests
It's essentially a code review process layer on top of git.
It allows us to fork Apache Flex… make modifications then send a pull request
to the main apache repo
It's usually not feasible for the group responsible for signing binaries to
also build the binary. It should be secure enough to scp the bits somewhere
along with a sha/md5 checksum file.

Sounds good… strange that Apache doesn't have a code signing process in place
already… seems like a pretty common requirement.

Anyone could sign code with the cert if they know/crack the password for the
private key.
I would keep all certs out of the repo in the interest of security and keep
them in a safe place and only grant access to people who create distribution
packages.

An air app must be signed with the same cert or it won't install/update unless
you change the app id.

it's probably worth mentioning that flash builder has its own compiler
implementation... while it might make sense to support it for this release...
it will be pretty difficult to continue to do so. Hopefully falcon was flash
builders plan to solve this problem.

Great… thanks Alex. :)
So what's considered a "good" patch?
- Fixes the bug?
- Doesn't break the Mustella tests?
- Doesn't break the build?
Anything else?
Also… as far as assigning JIRA tickets to myself… should I just leave a comment
on a ticket saying I'm working on it?
Should I check the A

Am I correct in assuming that step 6 is the key to getting fixes into the
mainline if you're not a commiter?

Do we have a CI server setup for Apache Flex?
Do we get one from Apache?
If not…
Do we need someone to donate one?
Are we waiting for something?
If not… I'd like to work on sourcing one or two and setting it up if that's ok
with the group?

I like those as a high level. There are some projects that wouldn't exactly
fit into those 3 groups though.
Here's the dir dump from /frameworks/projects… some of the projects aren't well
documented.
Maybe someone from Adobe can explain them?
