Just to be clear there is no where in the apache regulations that say
projects should or shouldn't have a roadmap or a plan. What it says is it's
up to the ppmc members on how they choose to run their project.

I hate to do this but -1.
On the mac the scripts in the bin directory don't have their execute bit
set. I'm sure that is true for the other shell scripts in the tree as
well.
I suspect that is because I saw the Apache Flex zip kit being downloaded,
not the tar.gz kit.

They currently have three very talented developers working on the project,
in addition to many other community members. The entire team list is at
