I confess, I don't fully understand what you are trying to do! :-D.
But I can remember having had problems with mails in the Sent folder as
well and therefore configured in the preferences for each mail account I
have that the Sent folder is a folder different from the default Sent
folder. M

others.
I am not trying to mock you or so, just trying to think in a straightforward

Have you looked into labels? You could set up a special label for
, set up a filter that moves all mails having that label to a
particular folder. That still leaves you with adding a new address to
the list of addresses that will get that label, , though.

Well, I hesitated upgrading from jaunty to karmic. Looks like it is
better to wait a few months before upgrading!!
Better try a vmware image before upgrading the whole box!!

Why don't you try to use filters and labels instead of search folders.
I have an imap account, too. Just create filter rules which label mails
in a certain way, e.g. all mails having Received-Date in 2003 get a
label, called 2003. Then you can create other rules which move mail

Create an outgoing filter via menu Edit->Message Filters.

As far as I know, the latest version of evolution on ubuntu 10.04 ist
2.30.xx, not 2.28.3. How did you install evolution, or how did you
