the possibility to ad a Birthday collumn in the overview?

Using 3.10.4 on Ubuntu LTS 12.04.
Working fine up to a few days ago when trying to access the google
contacts address book Evolution is throwing this up:
This address book cannot be opened. This either means that an incorrect
URI was entered, or the server is unreachable.

I suspect, you may be in the same trouble like I am with ubuntu "LTS" -
having to cope with an outdated release of evolution.
How can we motivate ubuntu people to provide recent updates? Or can anybody
else do that?

For this particular issue no, it doesn't help.
I'm not having any luck with GOA (showing as 'contacts'). When I start it
up it offers two choices - "online account" or "local address book "
Clicking on "online account " does nothing whatsoever...

I found one thread, which explains the mouse-over thing.
Google Contacts works fine with Fedora 22, Evolution 3.16.3 and GOA !
No problems with Mail, Contacts and Calendar.
