That's not the case, I didn't mean for it to sound that way. I'm saying
that if you're on KDE, it may look ugly because it's a Gnome application
and thus won't match with your other KDE apps. However, since you're on

Because I'm a newbie using Evo with ubuntu, I didn't know that my choice
of my gnome desktop was the reason of my Evo lacking eye candy.
I ask apologies to all the fine and distinguish members of the evo
mailing list whose feelings for evo were shattered by my comments :)

If you use the button to manually check for messages, then the detailed
dialog box makes a lot of sense. However, you can set it to
automatically check every so often, and it won't display the dialog box
then.

because of your mention of Outlook. If you are, you can manually install
a GTK theme to make it look okay. If you're using Gnome, it should fit

that I find Evolution quite nice looking... perhaps the default GTK+
theme in the Windows version is ugly, because on Linux, it looks fine.
Maybe you should send a screenshot of what it looks like on your system,
