It would also be useful for org-mobile-push, a very slow process for me
at the moment.

Yes. The problem was that inactive time-stamps were not correctly

That was for the mail, as some mail reader then know how to nicely
display the code.

Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen. You don't know how to make a good report? See

Try S-M-RET.
This is consistent with the behavior of M-RET and S-M-RET on headlines,
which see.

Thank you for your answer!

Hi!
I plan to implement a new weblog system that parses Org-mode files
and generates (static) HTML output. Yes, I am aware that there are
other solutions out there but I do not like them for various
reasons.[1]
So for my new system, I am thinking of using Org-mode files for
writing (and parsing)

Hi Huy,
I depend on inactive timestamps in headlines, because they are useful
when the entries are folded. I sort by time, which eliminates the
need for date trees.
But the problem of grabbing a time from the headline is solvable:

My motivation is to have an ability to create a virtual org file. My
workflow involves sharing bits and pieces of plain text with non-org
users and, right now, this means h

If MS Word users can't tolerate plain text org-mode files then I can't
think of many shortcuts. This works well when
* lisp/org-protocol.el: (org-protocol-convert-query-to-plist): New function.
(org-protocol-do-capture): Use new function.
When org-protocol's url has query, org-capture get query using plist-get from

For example:
Url is "org-protocol:/capture:/URL/TITLE/BODY?key=value"

Is there a way to show the content of a node containing a plain list,
so that the plain list items are collapsed? Or, is there a function
that will automatically collapse all the items in the plain list?
For instance, if I have a tree like this:
* Top level I

Of course the particular implementation will have to be seen before it
can be accepted, but I'd like to get the spec accepted (provisionally)
before setting to work on it.
Here's what I propose:
1. Do away with \vert{} entirely, leaving just \vert as an escape
sequence standing for |, no matter w
