GNUmed developer is helping to make the application 'talk' to org-mode.
I'm interested if GNUmed can pass some patient information (e.g. Name)

Hi Mike,
yes, it is less than optimal to base the selection on buffer names.
If you get the newest git version, this has now been changed.
Selection is now based on the major mode.

I have successfully used Org mode for about 2 years, all ways using .txt

This has caused very few problems. However, I note that in

Hi Raimund,
yes, (require 'org-install) is only needed if you have downloaded
your Org installation separately, not as part of emacs.
yes, this should be the first line of org-related configuration.
The warning you see is no problem.

Hi Carsten,
I understand and appreciate your point, but in my case there is no
danger of accidentally typing in invisible text. The reason I don't want
to display the next headline is that I wish to fold the headlined region

Hi Dan,
One way around the sleep(60) hack may be to create the R graph using
an inferior R process. See

information on running R functions from inside of Emacs.

Hi Scott,
this is supposed to be a *feature*. The problem is, if you show the
text below such a headline in a sparse tree, then the next heading is
still attached to the last line of the text made visible, and that
causes problems when editing. You can try this by going to one of those

It seems that the ability to generate graphs/plots from org files may
be general enough to be useful as either an addition to org-table or
as a new org-plot library. Carsten has suggested the addition of a

This is a off-topic, but what is the name of the -*- arglist -*- thing at
the top of an emacs file (e.g. -*- mode; org; fill-column: 80 -*-)? I would
like to look it up, along with its syntax, but I don't know its name...
thank you

Another difference I noticed: The "Effort" column's cells have a leading
asterisk.
