The sun is taking a break. This respite may be short lived due to
the unstable sunspot AR3886. The sunspot number dropped to 71, with
flux at 147 sfu. I expect less hiss and less QSB. But AR3886, or a
large filament of magnetism, could trigger an RF black out. Nonetheless
I now want to add a receive antenna to the setup and am asking
advice on how to go forward.
See if Elecraft still have KXV3B options in stock. If not, look
for one of the individuals who deals in used boards.

Usually in CW modes the bandwidth center shifts to the CW pitch (in my
case, 0.60 kHz, or 600 Hz) and the bandwidth goes to 800 Hz. Of course,
you can increase or decrease the bandwidth, but the center is shifted to
match the sidetone pitch, so if you match the CW signal pitch to your
I did update the firmware to 5.67b, but the sidetone level is still very
low compared to my 2nd K3.
I am still researching. The support case with Elecraft didn't work
either. They don't seem to understand the issue properly.
