HUD any more (as of a week or so ago, the gesture to invoke HUD was
disabled).

Digging around the code a bit, it seems the problem is that we aren't
reading the enabled status from the gmenumodel in menumodel-collector.c.
I have no idea if this is possible (should be easy, right? but can't
find a simple "enabled" attribute or anything obvious like that).

Yes, this is definitely a bug, I'm not claiming otherwise.
To look up the application I would just use d-feet. Under the session
bus, you can look up the connection name, and it will show you the
process name at the bottom of the view.
