It sounds like you only built 64-bit binaries of Mesa yourself, so you're

I've built Mesa by checking out origin/11.0 and configuring the build with
./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --enable-texture-float
--libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/
