Setting up everthing on Mac OS X can be frustraiting!
It took me more than a few days to get it right on Tiger.
Starting from scratch, with OS X 10.4.x,
I updated my xcode/xtools (to 2.4) to make sure the gcc was up to date.
I installed apache 2.2.3 using darwin ports,
and then installed the
