My mistake. There was a small typo. It was called __init.py__, not
__init__.py. I fixed it and it works now.

'mytags' is not a valid tag library: Template library mytags not
found, tried django.templatetags.mytags
It's defined in myproject/myapp/templatetags/mytags.py.
