It seems like the _Dia text input_ doesn't have the common behavior
with key combinations like:
* Select All "CTRL + A", as pointed by Igor Zhbanov
* Delete previous word "CTRL + BS"

Or you have to create spare empty rectangles, circles, etc. with
needed visual properties
and copy it.
So it would be great to have a keyboard shortcut allowing to select
all the text of a label
or quickly clear it.

The Linux and Windows will be the same. The Outline Text tool can be used

If you determine where you want the text, then you can group them together
for easy relocation. You could try to edit the shapes you like best and
out them in the sheet. I don't have any wisdom on that. I am an
inveterate worker arounder, and so, I avoid editing shapes.

several different ways. but the figure in the pdf does not look to the same
then in dia - the text moves slightly upwards. the problem could also evolve
through writing the pdf from latex. i guess i have to live with it
in the properties of the flowchart box i chose: text alingment "center" are

Just wanted to share something cool. Since AFAWK there is no formal
connector for use cases we use ordinary lines. But for includes and
extends it had become cumbersome to move manual text labels around
with lines. Today we discovered you can actually connect a text label
to a line so

I sometimes draw coloured squares (eg blue) with bright text inside (eg white).
When i select this text, i can't see it because the highlight is yellow.
