I have done it with MSVS 6.0 years ago. If I remember correctly there is a
makefile you set the path to the visual studio compiler in it and run make.
I remember it was working perfectly. You need VS 6.0 command line tools.

The work flow for Dia allows you to disregard portraitness,and
landscapeness - just make the Dia so you like it. Shape the canvas as to
like it.
Then you decide how you want it to be printed. The page breaks define if it
is landscape or not. All you need is in the Page Setup menu.

The printing is infinitely flexible. But, if the entities are far
apart (synonymous with the extents being too large) then regardless of
the font they will be small.
The work flow is like this. Draw the Dia so you like how it looks. Use
whatever zoom level you like. Then you print the screen view

I have two suggestions for getting started: 1) create a small diagram using
DIA that has some of the features you wish to have in your final output;
save the diagram; rename the resulting *.dia to *.zip; unzip and explore.
This might help you see how to programatically generate your desired output

No. There is a plugin that supports importing PDF files into dia. It was
written using internal poppler stuff, which isn't that good, so I'm trying

File pull down.
I set my page setup to letter, margins all to 0, and scale to 100%.
THe rulers always read in centimeters - that is the base unit for DIa

Thanks for contacting the mailing list.
I've had a look at Dia 0.97.2 and there are a few things you can try:
1. The exported scale is adjusted from File -> Page Setup -> Scaling (Scale
factor 100 means normal scaling)
2. Export the diagram as a .png and then convert that
