All,

BLUF (bottom line up front):

1) is this list still active?
2) how can I contribute?
3) what I've managed so far.

Long-wind:

I have finally found some time to spend with DIA source code and
documentation and am more in-love with this tool than I've ever been
before. My primary purpose in this message is to see if the mailing list is
still active. Secondarily, I'd like to find a way to contribute, but am
still climbing a few learning curves. So far, I've built DIA 0.97.3 on

Linux ubuntu-budgie 5.13.0-19-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Thu Oct 7 21:58:00 UTC
2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

and

MSYS2 on Windows 10

Hacks so Far:
1) I've started hacking the XML files and dusted off some XSLT tools, but
really have little to share:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<dia:diagram xmlns:dia="http://www.lysator.liu.se/~alla/dia/";>
  <dia:diagramdata>
...
  </dia:diagramdata>
<dia:layer name="Background" visible="true" connectable="true"
active="true">
...
      </dia:layer>
</dia:diagram>

2) I've poked on the Python Interfaces. The LINUX code gives me an
interactive shell--Not quite there with Windows version.

3) Started learning:
  a) Meson--enough to compile.
  b) gtk 2.0, 3.0, 4.0
  c) graphene
  d) CAIRO
  e) pango ( can't figure fancy Japanese and greek in this e-mail)

Thanks for reading this, and more thanks if you are helping to maintain
this awesome tool. I've been using DIA to create diagrams almost from its
initial release and see great value in keeping this tool on LINUX and
Windows platforms (I don't mean to snub the huge world of Apple folks, I've
just never been a citizen).
