The timestamp compiled into ntpd and shown in the ntpq variables output
has a different timezone depending on conditions that I can't determine:

It appears from recent traffic that we have a resiolution of the
library-path mess that is, if not perfect, at least acceptable to
all. It's good that PYTHONPATH is gone.
Thus, the freeze is on again. Expected ship date is Monday, October
