Hi,
I am currently using the beta version of ovs(2.3.90) and have enabled the
multicast snooping configuration with the help of below command.

Configure bridge \fBbr0\fR to enable multicast snooping
Thanks,
Today again i tested the patch with some more scenarios and i found that
OVS is doing it's enough work and now it's our (openstack) responsibility
to set our requirement by doing modifications on Br-tun.
Please try to upstream the patch set for the next release of OVS so that it

I have enabled "mcast-snooping-flood=true" on my port patch-tun and in this
case all traffic including Reports are reaching to other side i.e on OVS2,
since report is c

Now i got why ovs2 is not able to snoop the vm1's(running on ovs1) igmp
request, it's because action for patch-tun is not normal.
But for action= NORMAL ovs is not sending the igmp report (or any packet)
to patch-tun. Port patch-tun is on bridge br-int and it's connected to

Hi,
It is a openstack setup that we are using. To be more clear with the
configuration:
-> we have set *mcast_snooping_enable=true* on *br-int* of OVS on
both the compute nodes.
-> *mcast-snooping-flood=true *for *Patch-tun* port of br-int on both
compute nodes ( so that the multi

OVS only snoops packets that pass through the OVS "normal" action.

The multicast snooping works as part of action NORMAL, so if you
are steering your traffic using other flow actions, then it wouldn't
work.
Yes, action is NORMAL. I am using Ubuntu-12

I ran the command "sudo ovs-appctl mdb/show br-int" , this should
show details(like: port, vlan and group) of some hosts which are doing

Hi,
I am currently using the beta version of ovs(2.3.90) and have enabled the
multicast snooping configuration with the help of the link:
http://openvswitch.org/pipermail/dev/2014-June/041775.html
can you confirm as to whether the multicast snooping configuration is
supported at the group level
I don't have a solid answer. If you need this feature then I'd just
run the latest from master.

Can you give me some more instruction how to enable multicast snooping
using the database.
when i am running the command "ovs-vsctl set Bridge br-int
mcast_snooping_enable=true", it shows ovs-vsctl: Bridge does not contain a
column whose name matches "mcast_snooping_enable".

Hi Ben Pfaff,
Thanks for reply.
I tried to enable multicast snooping but i was not able to do that,
currently i am using ovs-2.3.0 but i am not sure that it supports multicast
snooping or not.

or not, and if not then whi

hi,
I am working on open stack and want to implement multicast_snooping concept
in that.
I saw in ovs FAQ saying that ovs supports mcast_snooping so i checked in
latest version of ovs-2.3.0 but i am not able to enable the snooping and in
last i filled that there is no snooping concept in ovs-2.3.
