About 5 years ago, when I tried to used Netbeans to open a large C project (the Wine project, about 2 million lines), it was unusably slow, and its C/C++ indexer crashed. I don't know if it has improved since then, but we have 6 times more code, and it's C++, not the much simpler C. Eclipse invest
