I'd like to prepare the GA release for 3.0.0 later this week. We are still
looking at a few bugs and doing some more polishing but we should have most
things done in a few days. Last call for any other changes.

Hi Paul,
Sam and I are trying to tweak rules for better performance and better
error messages. We should be able to complete most of easy parts by this
weekend, and the hard parts such as handling missing right parenthesis
efficiently may be postponed to minor releases of 3.0.x, e.g. 3.0.1.
We can certainly look at this. There is quite a bit of historic code in
that package which could be moved elsewhere. I recommend doing that outside
this issue.
