1) Flink 1.2 dropped Hadoop 1 but we don’t have a replacement “default”.
2) I’ll create a ticket to bump to the latest patch versions.
3) Uncertain if we can drop Hadoop 2.3 and/or 2.4.

For #2, we can reference Hadoop 2.7
BTW I think we can bump to 2.7.3 as dependency.
For #3, Hadoop 2.8.0 was marked not production ready. Junping is in the
process of releasing 2.8.1
It would be good idea to start testing against 2.8.0 now

I filed a ticket [0] that our download page [1] still states
“You don’t have to install Hadoop to use Flink, but if you plan to use Flink
with data stored in Hadoop, pick the version matching your installed Hadoop
version. If you don’t want to do this, pick the Hadoop 1 version.”
