In theory, it shouldn't matter what Git client you use. Maybe folks will
tell you which ones they use. I use TortoiseGit on Windows and SmartGit on
Mac.
Instead of using the GitHub mirrors, it is better to use the repos
directly since that is where you actually have commit privileg
