Sounds ok to me.

The gentle suggestion of three fellow contributors does seem to indicate
that there is something to be said for the minor change of moving the
paragraph with the direct link to the top of the announcement.

My conclusion, based on reply on the legal-discuss thread is that we
should either use a pointer or include the entire license, but not just
the portion that talks about the collection. IOW, it wouldn't be right
for someone to take an Apache LICENSE file that references third-party
content and oth
My preference would be put the link folks most want to use first, so I
agree with Tom and Erik. I noticed that Apache Open Office spends most of
its announcements talking about the binaries and makes the source almost a
foot note. See [1].
On the other hand, TDF is getting plenty of traffic so m
Hi,
The link is in the announcement I see any need to change it. It not like it's a
lengthly email and each link is clearly explained.
Thanks,
Justin
I'm with Tom. In marketing it is all about the message. The target audience
isn't interested in a legally correct, but less relevant document, they
want to know what they get and where to get it ;-)

Saw that. I was going to do it late in the night. Realized you got to it
before me.
Thanks,

Hi,
Got a some better bandwidth so checked in later swfs, also put in a few files I
had missed.
Thanks,

Hi,

My thinking was that Apache releases source code (any binaries or other content
are just for convenience) so that's more important even if it possibly going to
be less used.
What do you reckon to listing the web version first - it's much more easily and
quickly accessible to people ?

Hi,
Looking in legal it seem the short vs long license hasn't been fully resolved
and there's a few different views on it ie see [1] which has been reopened.
However both Roy [1] [2] and the licence how to [3] and this [4] say short
licences / pointers are preferred.

The Apache Flex community is pleased to announce the release of Apache
Flex TourDeFlex 1.1.
The Apache Flex Tour De Flex component explorer provides a sample set of working
Apache Flex examples. This release now contains over 300 working examples and

Ok ... so:
- AIR SDK: Is taken care of by Flexmojos with embedded Mavenizer

- BlazeDS: We could takte care of this by releaseing BlazeDS

I believe (needs proving) that everything in the list is optional from a
build perspective.
-AIR SDK: Required for IDEs. Required for Mobile and Desktop. Not
required for Browser apps.

And what about osmf?
I think I have never ever actually used it. Could it be possible that for a
maven release of flex having osmf included isn't a requirement? Would it be a
valid approach to have people add a depdencency to osmf only if they actually
want to use it?
So in this case adding:
And am I correct, that you only need the Embedded Fonts if you are actually
embedding fonts. Flex would work fine without those 4 libs if you don't use the
font encoding?
Its just that I don't want to proceed in a direction that would make us release
stuff that can't work on ist own.
I would a

Done just upload the ones that had changed.
