I have started to look around with an eye to 2019 as I have contacted ITAG
locally (www.itag.ie) and with their experience they think we can put
together a proposal provided there are any open dates at the University and
provided that those dates do not clash with major events in town that tend

Historically, our ideal model is that the ASF licenses our brand
(Foundation + Projects) to an org, and we handle the content selection.
Everything else is handled by that producer.
This year we are doing things differently, due to other options falling

I was planning on seeing if there was support in the area for an Apache

and what we (as the local group) need to provide. Is there documentation
anywhere that indicates (in a general sense) who does what?

Rich will be able to answer that as suppose, but
2019 is awful close as I have not yet tested the waters in the area to see
what we could do. We have a couple of disadvantages that have to be
overcome. But I will see if there is much support locally for the idea.
How much technical support is there from Apache? By that I mean is there a

Based on past events, having 6 tracks for 500 people seems like the right
goal. Additionally we need an expo area for 15 sponsors, an open hackathon
area, and press/meeting rooms.
Having a 2020 venue nailed down now would be great. Is 2019 a possibility

Rich,
I am considering putting Galway, Ireland (EU city of culture 2020) up for a
2020 conference but need to know what the requirements are to see if we can
organize it here.
