Ross,
I understand that the project is only in its planning stages and that is
perfect for me. I will not be eligible for the internship course with Kaplan
until early next year. So, your earliest ETA date of December is actually
right on target. Kaplan leaves the chore of actually finding an inter

solid open source communities. Hope this program will beneficial for
both students and ASF communities.
Thanks !

These may have great long term impact and education motivators for projects.

Hello Ross,
Thank you for your reply . I do use apache products. The apache web server
being the foremost. However i am interested in a few projects like apache
traffic server , apache lucene and hadoop. I am interested in web
architectures and apache traffic server is one of the nice piece of code
Hi Krista,
It's great to hear you find this attractive as a student, that's a
good sign from the proposed projects perspective.
With respect to participating in an internship I'm afraid this
proposal is not going to be much use to you since we don't know if it
will be funded yet, and even if it i
Hello,
I am new to the community and have just been lurking on the mailing lists. I
am a student at Kaplan University for Information Technology and saw this
email about an internship type project? How would I apply to be a student
participant in something like that? Kaplan offers a course as part

I like the concept of having students "work" in an open source project to learn
how such communities work. To me it's an invaluable experience, so I don't
object to this at all. On the contrary, for the projects I'm working on I would
definitely volunteer as a mentor.
Greetings, Marcel

Hi Shashi,
I think its fair to say that every one of our projects could use your
help in testing.
To get the most out of your time in open source you should spend a
little time finding a project that is going to give you lots back.
Adding testing an Apache project to your CV is certainly a good t

This is an unusual vote in that it is running in parallel to the
DISCUSS thread as a result of external time restraints. It is also
unusual in that I am not likely to be able to leave it running for a
full 72 hours for the same reason (minimum 36 hours, will push as late
as I can). For this reason
Some may recall that I kept promising the arrival of students from an
EU Commission project on a GSoC style pilot in formal education. This
was a very long way from successful but there was zero impact on our
projects since we asked PMCs to mark GSoC level projects as "mentor".
This enabled us to p
