system is i586/64-bit. After I login, I get a notification in another
language (looks Arabic).

I have a feeling that the message is coming from Date and Time or Event
notification. Because there is 1435 and 2013. My simple exercise to
convert
2013 to islamic calendar gave 1435. But why is it appearing like that?

The error reported is not a Program crash.
It is an undesired behavior but no crash was observed.
The defect is 100% reproducible. Please perform the following steps to produce
the defect:
1) Go to System Settings
2) Click on Network
3) Click on All settings tab.
Instead of making a transition
Changing the status from "Incomplete" to "New" as defect production step
has been explained clearly.

@Marek, I couldn't get sound working with kernel 4.12 on my laptop.
@Andrei, my sd card reader worked intermittently but since then I
haven't had any success. Switched back to windows for a while...but came
back to try out the latest kernel, but got no success with sound or SD
card reader.

Many thanks to andrei1998, got sound working!! even with kubuntu 16.04
LTS.
Did a clean install, the distro ships with kernel 4.8, the first issue
was that keyboard was not working at all, had to use an external usb
keyboard to do everything necessary.
Second I installed a mainline kernel, 4.10 u
How to install this patch and test it.
I am new to ubuntu. Please help me in fixing this issue .
