The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem
regarding modemmanager. This problem was most recently seen with
version 1.4.12-1ubuntu1, the problem page at

This is now in lp:lightdm. To make an in-session greeter you need to set
X-LightDM-Allow-Greeter=true in the session .desktop file. Then you can
run a greeter using liblightdm from inside that session.
Only one greeter is allowed at once. Any process from the logged in user

I just downloaded xenial's 1.8.3-2ubuntu3 and that has that fix (i. e.
the After=cups.service).
Unrelated note: cups-browsed.service has *both* Wants=cups.service and
Requires=cups.service, so the Wants= is entirely unn
