I normally don't use the laptop screen, as the external display suits me better.
However, when I disconnect the HDMI cable (and the external screen is no longer
connected), the laptop display should pop back and activate.
This doesn't happen - the laptop display remains dark

Input does not work after switching keyboard language

After switching keyboard language by pressing Meta+Space, keyboard input
stops to work for a time interval like 0.5 sec.
That is when I press Meta+Space and directly after then type some
letters, the input does not work like half of a second.

I've manage to get sound working again running:

$ sudo apt install --reinstall pulseaudio
$ pulseaudio
```
And at every boot I need to open a terminal for pulseaudio. (It still
doesn't start with the system).

Upgraded ubuntu from 18.04.
$ pacmd list-cards
No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon.
Does anyone know a way to fix it?

Rhythmbox on Ubuntu goes with "Alternative Toolbar" enabled by default.
This alternative toolbar is missing volume control!
I disabled this plugin and now after I restarted Rhythmbox, I see no
menu (and so no "Plugins" menu item to change it further).

I have thunderbird-locale-ru installed. Moreover, Add-ons manager says
that "Russian (RU) Language Pack" is installed.
Nevertheless I have only "English (United States)" in Spelling button
menu when composing a message.

Connect both rear microphone and front microphone to the PC.
In Gnome Sound settings select Rear Microphone input.
Reboot the computer.
Now both microphones don't work.
Workaround: Modify (and then modify back) the input device in Gnome
Sound settings.

AFAIK it not longer loses the Internet connection itself, but if I
unplug the ethernet cable then the network manager becomes red and not
any Internet connection is detected anymore when I re-connect the
ethernet cable. Only a restart makes the network manager to get the
normal color and to detect
After last update, therre an issue with NVIDIA 340 drivers, and screen
is in low resolution. This is the second time this happens after kernel
update using Ubuntu 16.04.
