If I lock my screen and return, lightdm-gtk will ask for my password,
but accepts no keyboard input. I can Ctrl-Alt-F1, log in and restart the

In Gnome 3.38 header bar buttons are taller and usually include both an
icon and text label. They are also responsive. Some of this new features

I was able to resolve this problem by reinstalling all of the mutter
packages that had been upgraded using synaptic. Drag and drop and the
slightly altered look of Nautilus have been corrected.

Solved: With my data above and with the help of an other forum, I see that
evince just updated into a memory glutton, eating up more than my 4 GB RAM can
provide :-(
Workaround: uninstall evince, install okular which is modest in memory usage.
