everyone that wants to install KDE and another major desktop environment in
parallel will fail. Some will quite likely give up using (K)Ubuntu. (If even
such simple things do not work easily...)

To all those who could hardly await a fix: Since it is closed source
driver, this issue has to be resolved upstream. So far, Nvidia has not
provided an update, although (according to Aaron Plattner) they are
working on it [1]. Just downgrading isn't always preferable, either.

Crashes when inserting (micro)SD-card in car

Recently, when i insert my SD-card (in Adapter) into my lenovo T410s (card
reader, left side), the mounting applet doesn't pop up any longer.
I did a bit more of research and find a crash whenever I insert the card, also
after a reboot, reproducably.
dmesg tells me:

I don't want my wallpaper to be shown on the login and lock screens. So
I used dconf-editor to change the "draw-user-backgrounds" setting to
"false".
What I expected to happen:
- The login screen as well as the lock screen would respect the setting
(neither would show my wal

For me the problem disappeared since I upgraded to the mainline kernel
4.8.9-040809-generic (my random pick) from here
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D
as suggested by PeterPall above. Ubuntu runs like a charm, I only had to
update my VirtulBox to the 5.1 series.

What could auto-start CUPS is cups-browsed for example, but with
Requires=cups.service
in
/lib/systemd/system/cups-browsed.service
the shutdown of CUPS should shutdown cups-browsed first.
Also important is that first both the .path and .socket get shut down
first, to avoid an auto-start of CUP
The cups.pathy file comes from CUPS upstream. One should report a bug
about that the file (and the keepalive file) do not make sense and a
cups.path starting CUPS whenthere are pending jobs would be a much
better idea.
