(10.5.9-2ubuntu1~trusty3~ppa1) includes the corresponding vivid's

you could try enabling ppa:canonical-x/x-staging and updating the
packages, it comes with a newer mesa which might fix this

I am not sure this bug is fixed in 14.04.3. I have a (relatively) fresh
install that I brought up-to-date. I bumped into this bug after
