Weird, comment 63 actually fixed this for me.
I'm using Fedora 20 with gnome 3 and stumbled on this bug. My scroll has
been going crazy since I restarted, and the only thing that fixed it was
unplugging and replugging the little USB wireless key. I have a
microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000.

Thanks, the version 1.0.1 in the ppa renders properly. However, it is
still not perfectly usable on the high-dpi screen because it expands to
much to the top (I believe the snapping feature gets sometimes the
window coordinates wrong). I will try to narrow it down to write a
separate bug report.

and Ctrl+Alt+F6 / Ctrl+Alt+F7 solves the issue.

Using newest utopic my screen flickers to black and back every now and
then during regular use. After a few seconds it comes back. Whenever
this happens I get an error trace in dmesg. All of them are slightly
different, here is an example one:

Unless we change the way we start Unity8 (which I've yet to convince
people we should), we - tragically - can't pass an fd to unity on
startup.
What we *can* do is hand off an FD to logind, and have unity8 pull it
from there. Keeping that fd away from non-Unity processes
Another error case is as follows: successfully use the second monitor after
cold starting, disable it in display properties. Suspend and later resume the
system without the monitor attached. Attach the monitor and enable it in
display properties, Xorg will crash.
