I just tried something different here with my system.
I turned off the Onkyo receiver which routed the HDMI directly to my TV.
I tried all sorts of settings within ALSA and Pulseaudio to hear the sound on
my TV. Nothing passes through from the media players except this "
speaker-test -d -c 2 -t

I can confirm that with modifier-only-input-switch PPA activated, hotkeys in
non-latin layout work fine in most applications except for some of them.
I encounter non-latin-layout-hotkeys malfunction in LibreOffice and VLC.

Xorg guest session fails to start if the user has logged
There's already a program called "chromium". We can't change this
easily.
The answer is that almost all users will be running chromium from a
desktop where "Chromium" will find the application launcher and won't be
a problem. People who are technical enough to be typing the path
/usr/bin/chromium.
