has been activated in Onboard.

Works perfectly without crashes now. Thank you.
Only thing which does not work is that onboard does not take the desktop
theme. The keys are beige with black text, and not as the menus dark
gray with white

Sorry, I haven't read this line enough:
Only the /usr/lib/gimp/... location appears to be used, whih means I
can't install my own Gimp plugins under my home directory. This is
contrary to expectations.
