I think I have this issue on my Dell Inspiron mini 1018.
When it freeze, my machine won't recover. Hard reset is needed.

I had this bug in an un-upgraded 12.10 system: my X server froze, the X
server log shows a backtrace identical with that in the bug report.
However, nothing crashes (I had to log in remotely and kill the X server
manually to get control back). If I can provide any more information

Which greeter do you use? To me it sounds more like an issue with the
greeter than lightdm itself.

When I arrived at work this morning, I found that I couldn't log in to
my laptop with my keyboard and mouse. The laptop keyboard and trackpad
work, but not my peripherals. However, once I am logged in to Unity, I
am able to use them without issue, and switch to TTYs and so on.

makes the menus readable again on Precise LTS (
