I found that manually establishing a ssh tunnel via terminal and then
logging in to localhost DOES work so, this is definitely a problem with
vinagre.

Inconsistent spelling of "Filesystem" (vs. "File system")

I was just hoping that we could identify the root cause of the problem, but
perhaps it is not so simple or maybe there is more than one bug.
In my case I removed the closed source nvidia driver yesterday as suggested by
Lucy O'Neill. The procedure is described at the following homepage:

The bug (lack of KDE integration) was fixed by adding the firefox-
support-kde package, which I think used LD_PRELOAD to make Firefox use
KDE dialogs etc.. However, that package was dropped in Precise and
Quantal (bug #949949), which therefore causes the bug to resurface.
