I use a clean installed 22.04 (not upgraded from 20.04) and a clean setup of
Evolution (no config was copied from an earlier release) and I do experience
this issue, it's pretty straightforward to reproduce, i.e. every time a
composed email is saved into an auto

want to say that the gnome panel was lazily programmed? Well, it's only
to hope that the relaease of gnome 3 will fix it.

Well, here's a solution, someone might like. Browsing around the web I
happened to come across a very nice panel add-on. It's like the Win7
panel, but does even more. The icons look exactly like as if u just add
them to the gnome panel, but obviously they can do more. It's a

The sound is ok, but the window gets bigger than my screen when I click

Exactly the same problem here. I've tried the last 3 generation of Ubuntu on my
EeePC 1000H, but none of them has been able to run the action assigned to a
critically low battery state successfully. I only remember some 2 or 3 times

Hi, GNUbee40, I've managed to partially solve the issue. Open Configuration
editor and go: apps → gnome-power-manager → thresholds and change the time
values. "time_action" is the time remaining in seconds when it hibernates (or
anything else u set it to do). This works for me:
time_action = 600
Ok and how can you keep volume at 150% permanently, because at least in
my system the volume reduces to 100% after each start up and I have to
crank it up manually again and again. How can you hack this? Any ideas?

Yes, it's interesting that some programs do some things correctly, but
when they are starting, for the first time they frequently make a
mistake in them. But if u reload that, it's ok again. Same as google
chrome when loading pages from the last session and some ohter programs
doing strange things
DGMcCloud is completely right. Ubuntu is a perfect os, but it has these
"small" problems, that scare new users and they go back to the "good
old" Windows. This issue is far more important than it seems.
However I see 2 comfortable ways how to handle it, until it's solved:

-if u drag&drop a FILE from nautilus to the panel, it will create a
launcher apparently meant to be for an application, not a file (if u hit
properties → browse, it will ask for locating an application).

In my experience it depends from theme. I use the UBUNTU DAWN theme with
MAC ICONS and long time I haven't seen this problem, but I re-logged
into a different user with the default theme and suddenly the power
button was broken... With my beloved settings it has never happened so
far!

Unfortunatelly this happens always unexpectedly and unpredictably. I'm
using compiz, but it has happened even without compiz. I can't tell u
anything else at the moment, only that it's happening and it has been
happening for generations in Totem.

when I hover over it and I can't click on it. I don't need to close

the Ubuntu dawn theme, only in the default theme. I've been using Ubuntu
dawn & MAC icons (by the way very nice combination) for a month and I
haven't seen this there since. Nevertheless, probably it has something
in common with
Cory, could u be more specific? F.e. I use the UbuntuDawn theme & MAC
icons & crystalblue pointer. How exactly should the content of the
"index.theme" file look like?

But the Terminal was full of error messages like this:

I'm not able to reproduce the bug ur way! The termial never gets
"locked". Check my video, if it was really that what I was supposed to
be doing... The first time I tried, after some ten tirals, I ended up
with a black desktop, with Nautilus unable to restart and using up 100%

Sorry for the confusement, that was a mistake of course... So this is
still notsolved here. I have 15% of my original battery capacity, but I
believe it should work anyway. It still doesn't guess the remaining time
correctly (which is the source of the whole problem), because when it
says 10 min. l

premap higher or I use an application with preamp (vlc,...). The steps
used to be 1% in 9.10 (which was really perfect), since 10.04 it has
changes to some 3 or 5%

This seems to be an issue with the gnome-settings-daemon. When I run this line
I will have my icons back:
gnome-settings-daemon &
killall nautilus
Several users had this problem also with the previous versions. It
seemed to be a timing issue as if I started my X session with this it
worked.

algorhythm is as old as scrolling itself. and actully there is a window
in gnome where this is already happening. this is the "about gnome"
window. so obviously, the algorhthm exists in gnome. so why not to apply

Is this really a bug? Come on! I can't see that ugly green icon any
more, all of the icons on the panel are monochrome (and there is this
1px for Skype and the buddy list comes up when you click on it). This
one is the kindest bug I have ever seen!
