i have just checked this on my system which is fully updated, and i
noticed this while ago.
i have done some investigative work with regard to this to fine out when
it does it.
when you turn the application volume up, the master volume level
changes to match the application volume. if you reduce
also did the command above
grep flat-volumes /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
; flat-volumes = yes

Rhythmbox closes itself down after couple of minutes when listening to
music. I have had to to use audacious at the moment since Rhythmbox

just done some more testing to find it crashes for me. it is when the
song end and rhythmbox tries to goto the next track. it turns darks and
then crashes and closes. if you click next (or use the next button on
remote) before the track ends it goes to the next track.
it also seems to send to many
i have done further tests with regard to this and i have established
that it is the plugin zeitgeist that is causing the crashing. the way i
tested this was i disabled all plugins and tested it. then reactivated
each plugin one by one.

i can confirm that if you uninstall libbrasero-media0 2.28 or downgrade this
package to 2.27.92 then dvd playback works again.
also fixes another problem that i had whereby if you unmount and eject a disk
and close the draw you where unable to reopen the dvd drawer to insert another
disc as it w

when i play a dvd-video it mounts and plays ok now with this new
libbrasero-media0 2.28.1. i cant eject using the drive button but can
unmount/eject using nautilus, then drive button works again until

sorry to reopen this bug but if i raise another bug report then with the
pace that ubuntu jaunty is getting updated than i is going to be out of
date when the you look at it.
i have made sure the packages mentions above are update to date and then
retried and get the same problem.

changing it back to new as i dont agreed with the status invalid as this
