How tired I am of this...
Ubuntu does not work normally on any of the last ten computers...

As stated in the title of the bug, every time I resume from suspend, the

by switching the wallpaper, but the previous wallpaper is unusable until

I have this bug (and some other related ones) on a Lenovo ThinkPad L540
running Ubuntu 18.04.2. I switched to using lightdm which works around
the issues, but I don't like lightdm as much.
I see it's marked "Fix Released" above; excuse the ignorant question,
but does this mean I will soon be able
I'm seeing moderately high CPU usage from the gnome-shell process as
well. It seems to stay running at at least 5% at all times. I decided to
use strace to see what it was doing:
$ sudo strace -c -p 6916
strace: Process 6916 attached
strace: Process 6916 detached
% time seconds usecs/call
This seems like a duplicate of #1716982, but maybe it's a regression
after that was fixed. Anyway, commenter ernstp identifies the cause in
comment #12 [1]:

"dockManager" perhaps?

Land for dingo? What are the possibilities of a backport to both 18.04
and 18.10? Couldn't this be considered a security vulnerability? It can
theoretically be used to close someone else's work out without saving,
depending on the application.
