Using the gstreamer-developers ppa[1] fixed this issue for me. I hope

I was able to get passed this failure by uninstalling firefox - updating
my system (new kernel) and then re-installing the firefox package. Not

My Ubuntu machine with Intel + Nvidia graphics with automatic session
start randomly logs into X11 or Wayland (no idea why) and it looks like
this Nautilus bug happens less often (if at all) on Wayland. Maybe it's

in libwnck in screen.c the function update_workspace_list this always

(vm-spec).
But how can the pager display get the number of viewports correctly when
drawing the switcher, I might be blind but I just can't find the code that

I vote against doing this. There's seldom a use to go up from the home
directory and mostly things are write protected there anyway. I'd prefer
to use the space to display folders in the home directory instead (yeah,
I know we could display / home first and then remove it when space is
limited but
I think this is an issue with how we mount NTFS partitions rather then
nautilus.
Anyway I've included a patch that changes the default behavior to
"display" instead of "ask".

Worth nothing, as a workaround I issued `dpkg -r --force-depends gnome-
shell-extension-desktop-icons' followed by 'apt-mark hold gnome-shell-
extension-desktop-icons` to be able to get rid of the extension. Once
done, logging out and back in will give you a clean desktop with no
icons.

It does not work to hide the icons via the extension settings. Eg, the

If your user account is configured to not suspend, you could copy the
settings over to GDM like this:

thought I think the bug is in yaru-theme.
