I can see and read all my files through file manager. However, when I go to
open any of my files through "Places" a window pops us saying, "Could not
create the Archive - archive type not supported."

Cannot open any of my files. Archive Manager comes up and gives error in

It appears sunjava is seeking license permission and wants an 'OK' or 'I
agree' from the end user. But the process does not discontinue. I now
get an error when I try to "add/remove" programs. I get the following
popup from Ubuntu:

unexpectedly (crashing). So I do not know how this bug can be closed.
