Eventually, I got an upgrade notification (it listed a bunch of packages
which were scheduled to be updated). I assume whatever process was doing
silent updates in the background grabbed the lock, and once I closed the
dialog software centre was able to install packages.

appallingly bad manners.

overhauling it will require a lot of work - it doesn't use gi at all.

I tried some different conditions with Screen Turn-off time-out and Lock
settings, and I found the problem is not for the lock delay time, but
for screen turn-off.
When you manually lock the screen and thescreen turn-off time-out passed, you
will get the blank screen after unlocking; because the

DISABLE “lock screen after screen turns off” or as the matter of security SET A

I found a solution!
After backup the file, I edited the file "ubuntu-wallpapers.xml" and
deleted some wallpapers listed randomly. Now, every image deleted from
the list, is single in "Appearance" app. The others are still double!

I specifically have problems with figures which were originally saved in
pdf version 1.5 format or pdfs which have rotated (slanted fonts)

I also tried the Gutsy i386 liveCD and the problem is still there.

Pedro, I don't know how you can open a directory with an image viewer,
but what I experience is that when I double click the images above I
can't get them to open in eog.

I have a brand new Gutsy install.
I import a folder of songs.
Right click on a track -> Add to Playlist -> New Playlist. Nothing
happens, a new playlist is not created.
If I create a playlist called "newplaylist" and then do Right click on a

a movie with an external subtitle file. After resizing the window, and
displaying/hiding many times the side panel the movie plays fine.

I found how to get the movie playing actually :
you simply click : play -> pause -> play :D
if you do that before quickly enough you can watch you movie with subtitles ;)

were really off in the settings, manually updated them to correct ones

lazy pixel updating. When the clock changes numbers, a column (maybe a

before the upgrade taking effects. After restarting Firefox, I can copy-
