Same issue on Xubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (my tower computer). The problem seems
related to bug #1900167. I have fix it by doing from terminal : 'sudo
apt update && upgrade'.

For information, the bug is still there in Xubuntu 22.04.3.
Note: The error message ('Prepared update not found' does only display in
Gnome-software after launching the window 'Update manager').
On a desktop computer I have fix it by doing 'sudo apt update && upgrade'.

I had again the issue on a other Xubuntu 22.04.4 computer (a desktop).
Here is how I fixed it:
From Gnome-software and from command line (sudo apt update && upgrade), the
same components were again not updated. So I typed this command line:
$ sudo apt upgrade python3-update-manager update-manager

I have perhaps a clue, I have a app that stopped working (it was OK 2
weeks ago):

dlopen(): error loading libfuse.so.2
AppImages require FUSE to run.
You might still be able to extract the contents of this AppImage
if you run it with the --appimage-extract option.
