The open with other application -context menu shows duplicate entries of
the same application. Some of these duplicates do nothing, while others
work as expected. Each of these entries will show in "Recommended
Applications" if clicked on.

You don't need Nautilus to search documents by content: for that,
install gnome-documents. However, there is a bug: if you search
documents from Gnome Shell, Gnome Documents will eventually crash and
need to be restarted. To get around this bug, you have to disable the
functionality from Settings/S
The bug is still present in the 20.04 LTS.

I just noticed that the bug is not present when the file being searched
is placed directly under home-directory. If I move the same file under,
let's say, "Documents", the bug appears again.

To reproduce the bug:
1. Make a search from GNOME Shell for file names. I have tested this with docs
and pdfs mostly.
2. From the search results, click to open the results in Nautilus. Apparently,
this will repeat the search in Nautilus.
No search results will be shown in Nautilus even though
I am able to make this work by first stopping and then restarting the
"gnome-documents" process. Search results from GNOME Shell will then be
opened in Documents as expected. Unfortunately, after a few searches,
Documents will crash and searching from g-s will no longer work.

I kind of figured this out. In addition to Tracker, you need Gnome
Documents and gnome-shell-extensions installed. Launch Gnome Documents,
and it will index your files. Now you will be able to search by content
from Gnome Documents and Gnome Shell, but still not from Nautilus.
Perhaps this is becau
