ubuntu and video card and driver do you use?

Status in Source Package "gnome-session" in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-session

Very ofen, when I turn the computer on after having used the "suspend" option,
the white background of the dialogue that opens asking my password persists in
the middle of the screen.
It stays on only one of the desks, the one on which it appears.
How can I erase that white rectangle?
