This is the first time I report a bug, so bear with me if I don't do it
right. Here goes:
The aforementioned windows display, but the actual lists of layers, channels,
paths and undo history come up as blank/do not display.

repository ppa:ferramroberto/gimp. The problem persists still...

With today's update, all the lists (except the undo history list) appeared in
their windows and worked. After I closed Gimp and reopened it, they stopped
working/displaying again. *puzzled*
They haven't worked since then, no matter how many times I restart Gimp.

After another general update, the layers list seemed to work until I
dropped an image file in Gimp to open it, at which point they vanished.
So, I guess restarting it has not much to do with the list disappearing.

I am sorry to say I haven't updated to the Natty Narwhal, due to reported
