Suddenly, gnome crashed, and opened a bugreport. It did it about times. After
that, I didn't have any panel anymore, so no access to applications or anything

The only solution to shut down is to ctrl-alt-backspace and shut down form

I own a Terratec EWX2496 soundcard which uses the ice1712 ALSA driver. There
used to be DAC and DAC2 volume sliders (stereo output) as well as two sliders
for ADC and ADC2 (stereo input).

blacklist evdev
to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist then run /sbin/update-modules as root, and
reboot. The behavior of the keyboard and mouse is thereafter reverted

I'm experiencing the exact same issue; it happens when opening links or
opening attachments, and only after evolution has run for a while. The
problem disappears when restarting evolution, which seems to confirm
this is an evolution-specific problem.
