My initial feeling is that Rhythmbox's library should mimic what the Unity lens

Just to point out: if you left "Artist" empty, then Rhythmbox creates a folder
for every artist on the CD. That means that if the disc match fails, the case
explained by the op could happen
There is no clear indication that "Artist" is used as foder name if filled, so
the solution is not obvious

If you delete a file, no longer shows on the "recent document list".
If you delete a file while the file selector dialog is open, the list did not
autorefresh (the deleted file is still listed).
If you then open the previously deleted file, the editor (Gedit on

LTS release, and even if they backport an update to 3.6 (unlikely), the
majority of users should keep the 3.4 for 3 years at least, so I think
it worth fixing.
