As this bug is marked as "Fixed" I just wanted to make clear that
GNOME_SESSION_SAVE=TRUE does *NOT* work in Ubuntu 12.04 "Classic" (updated to
date, so with the released "fix"). No window/application is saved and
re-opened/re-launched on startup.
