printing issue with that combination, but it was solved by enabling the

X.org itself doesn't manage these config settings. The layout is
actually done by the GNOME display preferences.
As to why compiz settings get reset, that sounds more like an issue with
compiz, so possibly you should file a second bug against it. The gnome
guys would know better.

I don't disagree that this is an issue in nautilus which should be
solved, but as Paul indicated there are serious security considerations
that must be taken into account; this invalidates the issue as a
papercut since it is not "trivial to fix".

prefer the current implementation; thus this change should either be
done upstream, or requires the analysis of the design team to provide

change it *to*. "Mount ISO as drive" sounds reasonable to me, but I

pretty evident this is not a papercut. Several solutions have been
proposed, including renaming (which is easy) and reworking the UI (which
is a little harder) and adding hooks to hardware events like CD eject
buttons (hard),

However, this does not seem to work on my system. If I create

retested on latest development version of Karmic to make sure the issue
still happens there with the latest code. ISO images are available at
