[Bug 817991] Re: Cannot change screen brightness after upgrading gnome-power-manager

2011-07-29 Thread Bowmore
The problem occurred on upgrading from 3.1.2-0ubuntu1 to 3.1.3-0ubuntu1 and the log for 3.1.3-0ubuntu1 says: gnome-power-manager (3.1.3-0ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low * New upstream release * debian/rules: * debian/patches/08-desktop-bugreport-path.patch: - Remove mentions of no longer

[Bug 826331] Re: Nautilus menu hidden under the Unity panel

2011-08-14 Thread Bowmore
I've noticed the same (similar) issue for unity-2d, gnome-panel (fallback) and gnome-shell even though it's harder to reveil the nautilus menu behind those main panels. So it's more likely a nautilus/gtk issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs,

In my case this issue, as far as I can remember, was solved by a following update so Evo now works both in Natty and Oneiric. Sorry for forgetting to mention that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution-data-server

Installing evolution-data-server 2.28.3.1-0ubuntu5 from lucid-proposed seems to solve my crash problems. Before I could reduce the crash frequency by only having one or two mail accounts active. After installing evolution-data-server 2.28.3.1-0ubuntu5 I've run Evolution 15 hours by now with five

Doesn't work neither in Lucid nor Maverick. I've tried all the suggestions with no luck but once. No proxy is used. That once when (for the n:th time) I deleted ~/.gconf the weather info popped up again both in the Clock and in the Weather Report. Tested both reboots and logout/login and it still

More investigations show that in my case (not behind proxy) the problem is that my ISP DNSes bar IWS servers, i.e DNS lookups fail for some reason. Switching e.g to Googles public DNSes makes it work again. Thus, this is my workaround until my ISP fixes this issue. -- Clock and Weather applet don

I experience the same behaviour for the desktop version at login. When using autologin the same also happens at first prompt of a password, eg for evolution and synaptic, where it crashes and returns back to the gdm login window. At next login everything seems to be back to normal. Confirming. *

I'm not convinced this is not a bug. I can confirm that this problem has occurred recently, actually about one week ago. I have a Dlink DNS-323 connected to my network over SMB. The FTP-server has worked throughout Edgy, Feisty, Gutsy and Hardy alpha/beta without any complains. I don't use it da
